The plates are already waiting
For barbell and configured plate-loaded exercises, Ascend turns the weight you type into a live plate summary.
Plate math tends to arrive at the worst moment: the bar is empty, the next set is waiting, and a total on the screen still has to be translated into metal. On barbell and configured plate-loaded exercises, Ascend now does that translation while you type.
What changed
Enter a working weight on a configured plate-loaded exercise and the keypad’s plate control updates with the closest loadable result and a compact, scoped plate summary. It states whether the counts are per side or total and calls out a closest match when the exact target cannot be built from the available inventory. For many common loads, the full physical setup is already visible without opening the calculator at all.
Tap the breakdown when the full setup or profile needs attention. The Plate Calculator keeps equipment, any bar weight, available plate sizes, loading style, and count basis in one focused surface. The target can be typed directly, nudged one step at a time, or moved quickly by holding plus or minus. The equipment choice and any bar weight stay with the exercise, while the available plate library stays ready across exercises instead of becoming another setup ritual at the next workout.
Why it belongs
A training log should not merely store the number after the work is done. It should remove the small repeated calculations that interrupt the work itself.
The live plate breakdown turns the calculator from a destination into an ambient answer. The full surface is still there when the equipment changes or a gym lacks a plate size, but the ordinary case now asks for one number and gives back the physical setup. That is the standard Ascend is moving toward: useful context arriving before the lifter has to go looking for it.
