ACCOUNT & DATA DELETION
This page explains how to delete your Ascend Log account and all associated data. No sign-in is required to read this page.
How to Delete Your Account
Primary method — in-app (recommended)
- Open Ascend Log on your device.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the HUD to open Settings.
- Scroll down to the "Your data" section.
- Under "Delete your account and ALL of your data," type DELETE exactly into the confirmation field.
- Tap "Delete account + all data" (the red button).
- The deletion runs immediately. You will be signed out automatically when it completes.
Re-signing in after deletion creates a fresh, empty account — there is no recovery path.
Fallback method — email request
If you are unable to access the app, send a deletion request to:
Include the email address associated with your Ascend Log account (the Google account you sign in with) in your message. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm by reply when complete.
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed from Ascend Log's servers in a single transaction:
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Profile | Display name, @handle, unit preference (kg/lb), default rest setting |
| Workout sessions | Every session you have ever logged in Ascend Log |
| Exercises within workouts | The exercise selections and ordering in each workout |
| Sets | Every set record — weight, reps, RPE, and any notes |
| Custom exercises | Exercises you created that are not referenced by another user's history (see note below) |
| Mesocycles | All mesocycle training blocks and their associated structure |
| Personal records | Every PR detected by the app, and your last-performance history |
| Imported data | Any data imported from third-party apps (e.g., Strong CSV imports) |
| Bodyweight log | Every bodyweight entry you have recorded |
| Recovery days | Every recovery/rest day entry you have logged |
| Gyms and machines | Gym locations and equipment you set up for condition-aware tracking |
| Per-exercise preferences | Rest timer overrides, unit overrides, and muscle map customizations per exercise |
| Saved presets | Set-type and burn presets |
| Social connections | All friend connections and incoming/outgoing friend requests |
| Session memberships | Your participation records in all shared/joined sessions |
| Activity-feed posts | Your workout and recovery posts visible to friends in the League feed |
| Shared-workout grants | Any workouts you shared with specific users or received from them |
| Visibility settings | All privacy preferences you configured |
Deletion covers every row you own in Ascend Log's database. It is processed in a single server-side transaction.
Note on custom exercises used by others: If you created a custom exercise and another user later logged that exercise in a shared/joined session, that exercise record is retained in the system — with your authorship removed — to preserve the other user's training history. In practice this affects a very small number of accounts.
Note on sessions you hosted with guests: If you hosted a shared session in which other users logged their own sets, that session record is preserved so the guests' training history remains intact. Your own sets, exercises, and activity-feed posts within that session are deleted; your name is removed from any coaching credits. The session host record remains associated with your (now-deleted) account ID.
What Data Is Retained After Deletion
| Retained | Why | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Your Google (or email) sign-in credential | Your Google account is owned by Google, not by Ascend Log. Ascend Log deletes all Ascend data; it does not and cannot delete your Google account. Signing in again creates a new, empty Ascend account. | Indefinitely (managed by Google) |
| Automated database backup snapshots | Ascend Log's database infrastructure takes automated backups. A snapshot taken before your deletion request may persist for up to 30 days. These backups are not accessible to you or to other users; they are infrastructure-level snapshots used only for disaster recovery. | Up to 30 days |
| Anonymous crash reports (if opted in) | If you opted into anonymous diagnostics in Settings → Privacy, any crash reports previously submitted to Sentry are retained. These reports contain no personal information (email, name, device ID), are not linked to your account after deletion, and are not shared. If you did not opt in (the default), no crash data was ever collected. | Per Sentry's standard retention policy |
Nothing else is retained. Ascend Log does not sell data, run advertising, or share data with third parties other than the service processors above.
