01
Acceptance of These Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Ascend Log mobile application (iOS or Android) or any related website or service operated under the Ascend Lifting League brand (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Ascend Lifting League (“Ascend,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
02
Description of the Service
Ascend Log is a premium lifting tracker for mobile devices (iOS and Android). The Service includes:
- Workout logging — record sets (weight, reps, RPE), exercises, and sessions.
- Mesocycle Engine — plan and track periodized training blocks with routines and program structure.
- Exercise library — a curated exercise database with muscle-map visualizations, plus the ability to create and save custom exercises.
- Bodyweight and recovery tracking — log bodyweight entries and tag recovery or readiness days.
- Joined sessions — share a live workout session with friends in real time; observe, co-log, or coach.
- League social feed — an activity feed visible only to accepted friends showing workout posts and training highlights.
- Academy — a training-science methodology library with structured principles and educational content.
- Rest-timer — a countdown timer with notification cues that fires between sets.
The Service requires a compatible iOS or Android device and an internet connection for account creation, syncing, and social features. Some read-only and locally cached features may be available offline.
03
Accounts and Eligibility
3.1 — Age
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement. If we learn that a user is under 16, we will terminate their account and delete their data.
3.2 — Account Creation
You may sign in using:
- Google (required; your email address, display name, and profile avatar are collected via Google's OAuth flow), or
- Email one-time code (your email address only).
On iOS, you may also sign in with Sign in with Apple where available.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@ascendlifting.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
3.3 — One Account per Person
Accounts are personal. You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent, or operate automated bots or scripts against the Service.
04
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
- Post, upload, share, or transmit any content (including in the League feed or shared workouts) that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, or otherwise objectionable.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or any other systems or networks connected to the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the data it contains.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Use the Service to collect data about other users without their explicit consent.
- Use the Service in connection with any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of this section.
05
User-Generated Content
5.1 — What You Post
The Service allows you to generate and share content, including workout posts and activity-feed entries visible to your accepted friends in the League feed (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant Ascend a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate and provide the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
5.2 — Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content
Ascend has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content. You must not post, share, or transmit any content that:
- Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or contains nudity in a sexual context.
- Depicts, glorifies, or facilitates violence, self-harm, or dangerous activities.
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or targets any individual or group.
- Is hateful, discriminatory, or dehumanizing based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Constitutes spam, phishing, or fraudulent activity.
- Violates the privacy or intellectual property rights of any third party.
Content that violates this policy will be removed and the responsible account may be suspended or permanently terminated without warning.
5.3 — Reporting and Blocking
The Service provides tools to report objectionable content and to block users. Use the block or report option available on user profiles and content within the app. Reports are reviewed and acted upon; we will remove content that violates these Terms and take appropriate action against the responsible account. We are not obligated to monitor all User Content, but we reserve the right to do so and to remove content at our sole discretion.
5.4 — Friend-Gated Visibility
In v1, League feed content is visible only to accepted friends. You control your friend list; removing a friend immediately restricts their access to your feed posts. Do not use the social features to share content with persons who have not accepted a friend connection.

Health, Fitness & Safety Disclaimer
The Service is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
All information, training data, mesocycle programs, Academy content, and other material provided through the Service is for general informational and fitness-tracking purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified physician, sports medicine professional, certified personal trainer, or other licensed healthcare provider.
Before beginning any exercise program — especially if you have or suspect any health condition, injury, or physical limitation — consult a qualified healthcare professional. This includes but is not limited to cardiovascular conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, metabolic conditions, pregnancy, and post-surgical recovery.
Exercise carries inherent risk of injury. By using the Service to plan or log physical training, you acknowledge and accept that risk. Ascend is not responsible for any injury, illness, or adverse outcome arising from physical activity you undertake in connection with your use of the Service. You are solely responsible for your training decisions and physical safety.
The Academy and other educational content reflects general training principles and does not constitute individualized programming advice. Results vary; no specific outcome is guaranteed.
07
Device Permissions
The Service requests the following device permissions to operate its features:
| Permission | Purpose |
| Camera | Used exclusively to scan a QR code to join a live shared session. No images or video are stored by Ascend. |
| Notifications | Used to deliver rest-timer alerts and session updates. You may revoke notification permission in your device settings at any time. |
| Android exact-alarm & foreground service | Used to operate the rest-timer countdown accurately when the app is backgrounded. These are requested at runtime on applicable Android versions. |
No Health platform permissions (Apple HealthKit, Android Health Connect) are requested or used in the current version. All fitness data in Ascend is data you enter directly into the app.
08
Intellectual Property
8.1 — Our Content
The Service, including its design, code, trademarks, logos, Academy editorial content, and the Ascend Lifting League brand, is owned by or licensed to Ascend and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
8.2 — Your Data
You own your workout data. We hold it in custody on your behalf under row-level security; it is not shared with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy and these Terms, and it is yours to export or delete at any time.
8.3 — Feedback
If you submit ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the Service (“Feedback”), you grant Ascend a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that Feedback in any manner without obligation to you.
09
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy, available at ascendlifting.com/privacy, describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your data. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Key data facts:
- Your workout data (sessions, sets, exercises, bodyweight, mesocycles, friends, feed posts, personal records, gym and machine tags, and other app content) is stored in a secured database under your account and is not sold to third parties.
- Crash diagnostics via Sentry are opt-in only, off by default, and collect no personally identifiable information.
- No advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking are present in the Service.
10
Account Deletion & Data Retention
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Your data within the app, or by submitting a deletion request at ascendlifting.com/delete-account.
Upon account deletion, a server-side process permanently and irreversibly deletes all application data associated with your account — including workouts, sets, exercises, mesocycles, bodyweight entries, friends, feed posts, and all other user-owned records. This deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. An in-app confirmation screen lists all data categories that will be removed before you confirm.
We retain only data we are required to retain by law, and authentication audit logs for a limited period as required by our hosting provider's security obligations. We do not retain your workout or fitness data after deletion.
You may also request a free export of your data before deleting your account. The export includes your workouts, sets, exercises, mesocycles, bodyweight log, and personal records in CSV and JSON formats.
11
Crash Diagnostics & Telemetry
The Service includes an optional crash-reporting feature powered by Sentry. This feature is disabled by default. You may opt in from Settings → Diagnostics.
When enabled:
- Crash stack traces and error context are transmitted to Sentry for analysis.
sendDefaultPii is set to false — personal information is not intentionally sent in crash reports.
- You may withdraw consent at any time by toggling the setting off; crash reporting stops immediately.
We do not use telemetry data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
12
Third-Party Services
The Service depends on the following third-party service providers:
| Provider | Role |
| Supabase | Database hosting, authentication, and real-time services. Your app data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase's data processing terms apply. |
| Google | OAuth sign-in. Google's terms and privacy policy apply when you use “Continue with Google.” |
| Sentry | Crash diagnostics (opt-in only). Sentry's privacy policy applies when crash reporting is enabled. |
| Expo (EAS) | Over-the-air app updates. Expo may deliver JavaScript bundle updates to the app without a full App Store update. |
We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their respective terms and privacy policies.

15
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ascend and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party right.
16
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the Service ends immediately.
- We will delete your data as described in Section 10.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18) will survive.
17
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If not resolved within thirty (30) days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of JAMS, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property violations or imminent harm.
Class action waiver: To the extent permitted by law, you waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Ascend.
If you are a consumer located in a jurisdiction that does not permit mandatory arbitration or class-action waivers, the above provisions may not apply to you, and disputes will be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction in Delaware.
18
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice within the app or by email to the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
19

- Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
